Dear AGU Members,
The quota of 2,711 articles for 2025 within the scope of the TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM and Springer Nature Open Access Free Article Publishing Agreement has been exhausted. From today onwards, articles accepted by Springer Nature will not be registered in the TÜBİTAK system, and the publisher will proceed with the processes. As only hybrid journals are within the scope of the agreement, authors will be able to publish their articles as closed access without paying any fees.
The quota for 2026 is 3,090 articles and will open on January 1, 2026. Since the article acceptance date is taken as the basis, authors who will submit new articles should prefer to submit them towards the end of the year (considering that the acceptance process will take a few months), which will increase their chances of benefiting from the quota. APC support will not be provided for articles accepted after this point and between then and December 31, 2025, as the system will be closed.
